We are deeply saddened by the recent passing of Mona Durney, a beloved member of the Escondido community. In honor of her incredible legacy and unwavering dedication to helping others, we are establishing the Mona L. Durney Scholarship Fund.

Mona's life was a testament to her commitment to the community. Over the years, she raised over $500,000 for the children of Escondido, supported Escondido Christian School and Escondido Charter High School through her tireless fundraising efforts, and was passionately involved in Carols by Candlelight, an annual event supporting Rady Children's Hospital. She also ran the Escondido Chamber of Commerce's Rising Stars program for many years, honoring and supporting local high school seniors.

To continue Mona's legacy of service and support, the Mona L. Durney Scholarship Fund will provide financial assistance to deserving students in Escondido, helping them achieve their educational dreams and fostering a sense of community and achievement.
