Money for a soldier's funeral
Donation protected
Pvt Emmanuel Whitehead was a brand new soldier in the US Army, fresh out of AIT. We both went to AIT together, in Fort Leonard Wood, to become 88M, which is a motor transport operator. Pvt Whitehead was recently killed in the states, not even on active duty orders. He was always a good battle buddy to everyone around him, and he always had a smile on his face. You could always count on him to help you out if you needed it, and he could make anybody laugh. He was always the one to help push you through the boredom, the pain, the anger, the sadness, the cold weather. No matter what the situation looked like, he could always help you through it. We could be 25 counts into a 40 count exercise because somebody is late, and he would be right there with you, driving along, with a smile on his face.
The intention of this isn't for the money per se, but more so to show Pvt Whitehead's family that he was loved. That he still is loved. I want the money from this to be enough to pay for his funeral, so that his sgli can be left untouched for his family to use for whatever they need in their time of grief. I'm still working on contacting his family to work out the details, so more information to come soon.
