Money for medical expenses & Bills

Hello,

My name is Cierra. I'm twenty-four years old  and back in December of 2015, I was injured, horribly. It all started after one of my cats were attacked and ended up spending the night in an over-night vet's clinic with puncture wounds in his stomach. We tried to keep the cats inside over night but one of them got out. Around 4 in the morning, I heard my cat outside getting into a fight with what I believe to be was a bob cat. Naturally, I ran outside to try and break up the fight, only to fall and break my arm. But not just break it. I shattered the radial head in my arm.

The first doctor I had didnt know what he was doing. Naturally, you usually try to trust your doctors. But after 3 months of constant x-rays, and him saying that there's just a few cracks, only to finally do a CT scan and find out that the radial head was completely shattered, he finally scheduled a surgery. The day of the surgery, I was prepped and ready to go. After I was knocked out on the table, he suddenly decided it was no longer needed. He decided that it was 'all muscular' despite medical evidence and clear radiologist documentation saying I NEEDED the surgery. He referred me to another doctor for "botox injections." Whatever that would do for my arm...

When I got to the other doctor, it was about 3 and half to 4 months later. He took one look at all of the xrays and said that I definitely need the surgery. That the only reason the other doctor didn't do it was because it was too hard for him, likely. But the problem is, the bones healed and fused together, making it impossible for me to rotate my wrist, or even extend my arm out, just a little. He said that because my first doctor waited so long, he couldn't treat me properly. He couldn't do the simple radial head replacement because it's been too long and things are complicated now. So, he opted to taking the entire radial head out. He thought that since I'm young, I should be able to live without it, no problem.

Simple, right? Wrong.

For over a year after the surgery, I was still experiencing tremendous amounts of pain. It started off tolerable. But by February of 2017, things began to go down hill and quickly. I could no longer pick up simple things such as a cup. I couldn't type or preform the duties I needed to for work. So they told me to start my medical leave early. I had a second surgery on March 3rd, 2017.

The problem was, my arm isn't stable enough without the radial head. Turns out the radius was grinding against the ulna, causing severe amounts of pain in my entire arm and wrist. So, he tried to stabilize it by adding in a cadaver achilles tendon around the bone, preventing any more grinding. While this should have worked, and I should have been able to return back to work by April 12th, we found that my arm wasn't healing properly and that something is going wrong with what was done. For some reason, my arm is still in extreme amounts of pain and swelling to the point where I've been losing feeling in my fingers. I was casted for another 3 weeks. I've returned back to the doctors on May 2nd. I'm still experiencing a lot of pain and weakness in my arm, but I was expecting him to allow me to go back to work.

That wasn't the case. I've been told that for the next 6 weeks, I'm not allowed to do ANYTHING with my arm. No typing, (typing this one handed right now) no strenuous movements. No lifting anything. Not even a pillow. I work for a company who requires the use of both hands. They have no "light duty" things that I can do. I've run out of money to pay my bills, and I've been leaning on my parents for help. While they do what they can, they can't help me with all of them.

If within these next 6 weeks, I show no improvement, I have to make a choice. I can live with pain, or I can have my elbow fused, which means I would lose most all use of my arm with the exception of lifting my shoulder and using my fingers. Neither of which are ideal for me...

I'm working with a lawyer right now in an attempt to find compensation against the first doctor since it's his fault I'm not able to recover the way I should have been. I was robbed of my chance of ever getting back to normal because of his neglect.

The funds I raise from this will go towards not only my medical expenses and every-month bills, but it will also help out with any expenses I may have to pay to a lawyer.

Anything is helpful. I don't care if it's $1. If you can't donate, please just share this. I appreciate anything I'm able to get.

Thank you so much for all of your support,
xoxo ~ Cierra
