Organic Farm for Adults w/ Autism

The Mosaic Foundation for Autism, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) corporation dedicated to improving the lives of those with autism.  It has long been our vision to create a sustainable, organic farm on Long Island to begin meeting the needs of the many young people entering the adult system, the majority of whom are ill-equipped to take advantage of the minimal opportunities offered by public funding.   In this safe, structured environment, our young people will learn many aspects of gardening/farming, planning, management and sales, working as part of a team and solving problems pro-actively.  It is our plan that every ounce of profit from this venture go back, in legitimate ways, to benefitting the same population that created it:  our young people. We will offer numerous courses designed to help individuals with autism prepare for their own healthy, independent lives, and hopefully to lead to  additional employment or recreational pursuits.  This program will be open to all young people with autism, regardless of functioning level, and regardless of prior affiliation.

We have already successfully created a number of small organic gardens in and around the premises of the Mosaic School in Wantagh, New York, which have resulted in the donation of a bounty of fresh organic produce for our local food pantry.  

We are seeking funding from private citizens, such as YOU, in whatever amount, to make this dream of a productive life a possibility for as many of our vulnerable citizens as possible!   A donation of any amount can be so helpful to our campaign.  We continue to seek grants and other forms of assistance, but the belief in us by the public will mean so much to all of those efforts.  Please consider making your tax deductible donation to our effort today!
