About 5 years ago our mother was diagnosed with the condition NMO(Neuromyelitis optica). It is a condition that has an affect on the spinal cord and affects the movement of your liguments. Our family has been back and forth with this healthcare system from dealing with insurance companies, different centers, programs, etc and have not had any help just a lot of run around. Currently myself and my older brother have been trying our best to handle all of her repsonsibilities, from running errands, bathing, feeding and just being there for her when she is in need and keeping her positive and spirit uplifted during this expierence as this can be hard for someone to deal with. She has always been a very spiritual women and has amazing faith. As we are getting older and starting to work longer hours, finish up school, travel, and just grow into young men we are not able to give her the proper care and attention that she needs, we are looking into programs that offer in home nurse care as well as physical therapy programs, as we all know these programs cost money and we do not have the money to come out of our pockets to cover the cost. So I am asking you today from the bottom of our hearts for any donation you may be able to give to help our family in this situation, our goal is to raise $15,000 and this will allow us to pay for both nurse care and physical therapy in home, the insurance she has (Medicare) does not cover these expenses, or half the things the actually needs.
