Movers & Doers (Matthew Ingbar)
Donation protected
On Monday, October 30th, Matthew's trike was stolen. This was his only mode of transportation. The story broke in a local news media outlet and the response from the community was nothing short of inspirational. Dozens of people indicated their desire to help get Matthew a new trike. But the family, while very gracious and appreciative of the outpouring of support for Matthew, feel that they should not accept any donations, either monetary or in the form of a replacement trike. However, the family has suggested that the community make donations to a local organization that benefits the handicapped. According to their website, "The Movers & Doers program provides recreational experiences for people with intellectual and or physical disabilities and their families. Activities are designed to contribute to the physical, mental, social, emotional growth and development of all individuals." Matthew himself often takes advantage of the activities that the Movers & Doers host. If you take a look at their website here, you'll see Matthew in the bottom picture. So if you want to help make a difference in the lives of not just one individual but many, please make a donation. All monies collected from this effort will go to the Carson City Parks & Recreation program, Movers & Doers on behalf of Matthew.
