Hi, my name is Matty (Matthew) MAYNE, I am 17 years old and I live in Mornington, Victoria. As you can see I proudly possess one of the finest Mullets in the Country. I have nurtured this truly magnificent specimen for over three years and I now think the time is right to say good bye to my best friend. Due to its legend status I think it would be only fitting that I cut it off to raise money for a very good cause. The charity I have chosen is the EJ Whitten Foundation as Prostate Cancer is the most common form of cancer in men, excluding some types of skin cancer. Did you know that:
Approximately 20,000 new cases are diagnosed each year
Approximately 3,300 deaths are recorded each year in Australia
One in 5 men in Australia will develop prostate cancer in their lifetime
Some further reasons why I think this is the best charity to support are:
Promoting Prostate Cancer Research & Awareness
Increasing males’ awareness of their own general health
To compel men to better understand their own health
To influence propensity to take positive action
I am a lover of all sports and a participant of many
My school - Mornington Secondary College supports the Foundation
I have aptly called my campaign “Mow the Mullet” and I am hoping to set a date in September 2017 that will co-inside with the EJ Whitten Foundation’s Legends Game. It is my intention to have someone famous or well known do the honour of Mowing the Mulll. While it will be difficult I have set a huge target amount for my campaign. The amount I am aiming for is $20,000 which is $1 for every new case diagnosed each year and you can help me get there. Every little bit counts and I would be happy with any donation whatsoever including a $1. If for some reason you can’t donate, can I ask that you like, promote and share my campaign with all of your family and friends through all of your social media networks.
