Mrs. Hunter's Class Wish

Hello! I am a third grade teacher at Syracuse Elementary School. This year our school corporation went 1:1. That means that every student at our school has a device. In third grade we use iPads. There are so many great applications to use, however, many of them cost money. I have written a grant, asked our PTO for contributions, now I am out of resources. I would like to use Mangahigh.com in my classroom for a math resource. This great site reinforces math concepts that my third graders need to know. If offers differentiation to help students at all levels. I have signed up for the trial version, and my kids love it. This version will run out in two weeks. My goal is to raise enough money to continue using this in my classroom. While the students are having fun learning new math skills, it is doing much more than that. This app allows them to explore math at a new level while increasing their confidence.

In my classroom we learn, make mistakes, and grow together. The students in my classroom are called my kids, because we work together as a family. My kids come from various backgrounds, but as a whole, we are a low-income school. Our percentage for free or reduced is 55%. While that may make a difference outside the classroom, when we are in our classroom none of that matters. We work together in groups to learn from each other.
We aspire to be better everyday, no matter where we start from. One of our classroom rules is that no-one is allowed to say easy. We talk about how it may be easy for one person and not another, and how this makes us feel. I have had several teachers and parents say that this simple thing has lasted with them through the years.
My kids are clever, witty, encouraging, inspirational, and loving. If you feel your heart leads you to donate to our classroom to help our students succeed, we will be so grateful!
