The Mississippi State Guard (MSSG) (http://www.msstateguard.org )
is the constitutionally authorized State Defense Force of the state of Mississippi. Operating under the authority of the Mississippi Military Department, it is on an equal constitutional basis with the Mississippi Army National Guard, (MSARNG) and the Mississippi Air National Guard (MSANG).
The Mississippi State Guard is an all-volunteer organization tasked with supplementing the forces of the Mississippi Army National Guard and/or Air National Guard upon the order of the Governor of the State of Mississippi through the Adjutant General of the State of Mississippi. While its primary mission is to assist in coping with any man-made or natural disaster, the MSSG trains to be ready to meet any assignment. As a State Guard Unit, it is not subject to any federal authority, with regard to assignment and/or control.
As a volunteers, we are self-supporting with our primary benefactor being the MS State Guard Association who partners with many organizations to help provide monetary support, supplies, and nonmilitary equipment. Without their support most of the membership would be pressed to continue to serve the citizenry of the State of MS.
Who I am
My title is the G6 -Chief of Staff for the MS State Guard and I am the chief technology and communications guru for our organization. So, you can see how a printer in general falls in to that domain. The ID printer is primary a HR device but when you spend personal and your troop’s time keeping it running, you sort of own it. This has been going on for the last few years. Secondly, I am on the State Guard Association Board who primarily supports us is aware of our dilemma, but resources are limited so I took the helm for this one.
Our Need
We are looking for donations to purchase a new ID card printer to replace the now 10 year old unit. The new printer will allow the troops to have a cleaner and modern version of an ID card with a tamper proof overlay that also prevents fading, and enhanced security.
Your donation, regardless of how small, will allow us to present an ID that proudly reflects the State of MS, the troops, and the MS State Guard whenever and where ever presented.

Accountability
To simplify the process, I will withdraw the funds in my name and make the purchases. The final monies (whatever total we have) will purchase the printer, software, and associated materials (ribbons etc) to have a complete ID system for the State Guard. There is no personal gain of any kind for myself rather I am just the driver and conduit to get this goal accomplished.
The JAG officer and one officer keeps me accountable for purchase of the equipment and all of the accounting required. All cost and associated withdraws will be available after the end of the fund raising and posted on our website along with the name of the people who have contributed to this cause.
