HELP THE BLUE ESSENCE MAJORETTEE DANCE TEAM OF MTSU RAISE FUNDS FOR NEW UNIFORMS AND TRAVEL EXPENSES TO PERFORM IN MEMPHIS AND CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE!
Blue Essence Majorette Dance Team is a registered student organization at Middle Tennessee State University for young women who have a passion for majorette style dancing. Created by MTSU student Melaneice Gibbs, Blue Essence desires to add diversity to the MTSU campus through dancing of the African diaspora (majorette style dancing).
The purpose of Blue Essence is to entertain while establishing a sisterhood bond as members matriculate through their college experience. However, these ladies are not just majorettes but dancers & performers from a multitude of artistic backgrounds. The ladies have performed at MTSU football and basketball games, various student organization functions, Mardi Gras parades in New Orleans, various community events in the Murfreesboro, Nashville & Chattanooga, TN area, as well as mentor to junior majorette teams and dancers in various cities.
The ladies have been featured on WGNS 101.9 FM radio (Mufreesboro, TN), MTSU Sidelines, an were the guest of Murfreesboro's Vice Mayor at the 2013 NAACP Freedom Fund Banquet. Blue Essence dancers also commit themselves to 10 hours of community service per person, per semester.
Blue Essence dancers work hard on and of the dance floor. All members are responsible for their own costume and travel expenses. Help us continue to be a great asset to our community and school by making a donation today! All funds will go towards uniforms, jackets, and team necessities such as water, snacks, makeup etc.
