Wheelchair Fund

I'm a full-time college student who struggles with multiple physical disabilities. I don't currently have any diagnoses, but I experience chronic pain, fatigue, joint and muscle pain, and joint instability. The joint instability causes my joints to pop out of place on a regular basis. I use a cane to get around but my disabilities are getting to the point where I need to start looking for a wheelchair. I've found a local organization that may be able to help me get a wheelchair but if they can't, a wheelchair suitable to my needs (ultra-lightweight, folding) can easily be upwards of $1,000 not including shipping. Add in the cost of power assist and we're easily looking at over $7,000. I don't have insurance coverage for any of this and I'm unable to work aside from occasional embroidery commissions. If the aforementioned organization is able to help me, any extra funds will go towards symptom management and a SmartDrive power assist system. Getting to and from my classes takes a lot out of me and I generally spend the rest of the day, and most of the weekends, in bed. Getting a wheelchair will allow me to do more without feeling as bad. The isolation my health has forced me into has been incredibly detrimental on my mental health. This wheelchair will allow me to regain my independence and start to live again.
