Hi there, my name is Robert and I'm the Owner/Organiser of Turbo Tuesdays, an up and coming event in the Scottish fighting games community. We've already run tournaments such as November Reign, and a Killer Instinct tie-in to the Road to Hypespotting event.
Both events were a great success, however they were only made possible by the support of our players bringing equipment such as monitors and consoles with them. While the level of support was incredible, and humbling, I want to be able to run events without having to ask participants to provide equipment; easing the burden on them and hopefully encouraging more players to come along, as well as relieving the stress I feel when hoping and praying we get enough gear on the day to run a successful event (and hoping nothing happens to someone elses equipment!). So far we havent been big enough to run events at any kind of profit which would allow us to purchase equipment; all proceeds go towards venue hire and prize pots.
To ease this pressure and encourage the growth of the fighting games scene in Scotland, I'm turning to the gaming community as a whole to hopefully help us raise some funds to purchase monitors and extra consoles for our future events.
The goal is simple. I aim to purchase four gaming monitors and two consoles (a PS4 and Xbox One), with any extra funds going towards games and accessories such as controllers. This will allow us to reduce our dependency on players supplying equipment, as well as proving a more consistent and welcoming environment where we can accommodate all comers to our weekly casual events.
I can't overstate how much any amount of help will mean to us. With your support we look forward to running events which can raise the profile of fighting games in Scotland, encouraging players to come together and have a great time within this awesome community, and catering to everyone from completely new players who've never held a controller in their lives to seasoned pros looking for a new challenge or to try out a new game or system.
