My Memories of the Music Business

I have lucked out and found a potential publisher for my book of rock ‘n’ roll memories, (working title All About The Music) – from 1965, starting in the UK in the 60s and then onto Los Angeles 1969 and all the years thereafter.  I also achieved my goal, and became a singer/songwriter myself in the late 80s.  That journey took me to Nashville in the mid-90s, for a few years.

I met and/or worked with some of the best musicians of the day, including Jimi Hendrix, Mick Jagger/The Stones, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, Kris Kristofferson, Joni Mitchell, Eagles, Mothers of Invention, Jackson Browne, Crosby, Stills & Nash, The Hollies, Carly Simon, Queen, Bruce Springsteen, Rod Stewart, and many others over the years.  I plan on anecdotes involving all these great musicians.

I am mostly retired now, and have the usual benefits, but barely enough to keep body and soul together.  For the past 15 or so years, I’ve been working part-time (very) with lawyers, but that seems to have run out.  Lately, the pressure of dealing with life’s uncertainties has become distracting. 

I know there are plenty of books on rock music out there, mostly written by people who weren’t there at the time, and didn’t know the subject of their works personally; which is where my book will be different.  There’ll also be photos from my personal collection.

That said, I need to improve my monthly income by about $600 a month so that I can focus on the book completely, get it launched and start selling.  I need to raise about $5000.00.
