Future Business Leaders of America, (FBLA) is the high school division of the largest career student organization in the world. Each year, FBLA helps prepare students for careers in business. Their programs focus on education, leadership development, community service while making progress and creating a legacy.
This summer FBLA will be hosting the "National Leadership Conference" and I'd like to try and raise money to sponsor (3) deserving high school students that placed in District and State Leadership Conference and have qualified for National Leadership Conference in Anaheim, California.
Our school is one of the lowest income schools in the county, formally classified as Title 1. [Title I of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, as amended (ESEA) provides financial assistance to local educational agencies (LEAs) and schools with high numbers or high percentages of children from low-income families to help ensure that all children meet challenging state academic standards.]
Our school district will cover a portion of the fees, in addition to students doing fundraisers and working to cover the event. However, due to economic hardships, our students still have to help their families financially and cannot attend without donations and sponsorships from throughout the community to attend these events.
My goal is to sponsor (3) students that have above average GPA, demonstrated leadership qualities and assisted their community so that they can attend this summer. Funds will be given to the school on May 23th. Any donations above the stated goal will be given to the school to use to sponsor other deserving students.
