Isabella Nalani has the dream to play professional tennis and maybe play in Wimbledon someday, the options for a future are very limited here in Honduras, for Nala, that future is the passion she has for tennis! Isabella Nalani sueña con jugar tenis profesional y porque no jugar en Wimbledon algun dia, las opciones para el futuro son limitadas en Honduras, para Nala el futuro esta en la pasion que siente por el tenis!

It´s along road, in the tennis system she must travel to tournaments and climb the rankings, to have her shot in the future; in this journey we need all the help we can get, a friend suggested crowdfunding, so we opened this campaign, it will remain open for anyone who wants to donate, the goal is symbolic, any amount helps, and all help is welcome. Es un camino largo, para lograrlo se requiere viajar a los torneos para sumar puntos de ranking, y viajar implica muchos costos, una amiga sugirio abrir un fondo, la campaña tiene una meta simbolica y estara abierta para todos los que quieran apoyarla en este proceso, toda ayuda es bienvenida.

Here is the background on Nala's tennis journey so far, a journey we hope you can be a part of. Un poco de lo que ha sido hasta ahora su trayectoria, esperamos que puedan ser parte de ella.

She played her first tournament on July 2014, by the end of 2015 she ranked top 3 in the country for her age group U10. In early 2016 we met Christian Simondini, a top coach from Argentina, and Nala started traveling whenever possible to train with his academy CPS tennis team, 3 1/2 hours away from our city. Jugo su primer torneo en Julio 2014, a finales de 2015 se ubico entre las mejores 5 del pais en su categoria U10. A inicios de 2016 conocimos a Christian Simondini, uno de los mejores entrenadores , Argentino radicado en San Pedro Sula  (a 3 1/2 horas de casa), y asi Nala inicio un proceso viajando siempre que fuese posible a entrenar en la academia CPS Tennis Team.

In August 2016, now in U12 age group she won the singles national title, and ranked top 2, so we decided to move her up to U14 and programmed a process with Christian  that prioritized international COTECC  (Central America and Caribbean) this meant playing in a new circuit with girls up to 14 years of age even though she had just turned 11. Ya en categoria U12 en Agosto 2016 gano por primera vez el titulo nacional en sencillos, y alcanzo el 2 puesto del ranking nacional, con esa meta cumplida decidimos subirla a U14 y programar con Christian un proceso para priorizar competencias de COTECC (Circuito de Centro America y El Caribe) lo que significo entrar a un nuevo circuito sumando puntos desde cero y jugar en categoria hasta 14 años a pesar que ella recien cumplia los 11.

The workand effort is starting to pay off (small steps), Nala is now 12 years old, and she is ranked in the top 15  for COTECC  U-14 age group, you can get to know a little more about Nala HERE , look it up and maybe even follow us ;) El trabajo y sacrificio esta dando poco a poco resultados, Nala tiene ahora 12 años y esta entre las mejores 15 de U14 del circuito COTECC , pueden visitar @AFTennishonduras en facebook y conocer un poco mas de nuestra querida Nala.

A rough estimate: between training, gear, plane tickets, room & boarding and tournaments a year of tennis costs about $20K; with practically no financial aid options from local sports authorities, government or private sector.
