Help Me Move Closer to Family
Donation protected
Thanks for taking the time to stop and read my call for help.
The tl;dr of it all is:
* Trying to raise funds to move house.
* Trying to raise funds for a few essentials (furniture & appliances) for the house.
* Want to move closer to family to be able to lend assisstance with the kids.
* Disabled, can't work.
* Sis also disabled.
* Sis cares for our father as well as her kids.
Continue reading for more details.
I have been trying to raise the funds I need to move closer to my family in Morayfield for a few years now.
I currently live in the Northern Brisbane suburb of Zillmere.
My sister is carer for our father, she took over the job once I could no longer manage.
My sister and her partner have two kids.
My sister is also a chronic illness and chronic pain warrior. When she has a flare up of her ailment/s, I'm often called on to go and help with keeping the kids clean, fed, and alive.
I often visit my family and stay for several days to help with the management of the house, babysitting, and running errands while helping to wrangle the kids. It is far easier to run errands with two adults to keep the kids in check.
I'm wanting to move closer so I don't have to stay over during the nights. They have a wonderfully comfortable couch but it's not so great to sleep on. It does not agree with my somewhat temperamental back.
I am, as I call myself, a "crippled gimp".
I have several issues that prevent me from working in any traditional sense.
With relation to just my back, I have degenerative disc disease, osteoarthritis, and osteophytes (bony growths) resulting in narrowing of the spinal canal and nerve root impingement.
This results in a daily battle with chronic pain. I always have pain, it's just the volume that varies.
I suffer from migraines and cluster headaches.
I also live with bipolar disorder, chronic depression, and anxiety disorder.
Those are my less than mild ailments that have resulted with me being put on disability payments to cover my basic living costs.
This only just covers the very basics of living, but not always.
Moving to the same neighbourhood would save me a lot of stress and pain in the long run. And not having to sleep on their sofa will limit the amount of appearances "cranky nang" makes. (Nang is my adorable nephew's name for me)
It will also give my sister some piece of mind knowing that she has someone close she can call on in case of emergency.
It currently takes me approximately 2 hours to get to her place from mine.
I do not drive and must rely on public transport.
I don't plan on having children myself so I enjoy all the time I get to have with my niece and nephew. It also helps my sister too, after all, they say it takes a village to raise a child.
I am also trying to raise funds for the basic daily needs most people have in their home.
A fridge, kettle, toaster, microwave, lounge/sofa, vacuum cleaner, cutlery and crockery.
It is my aim to raise the funds by the end of the year. My current house mate has been putting the pressure on me to sort my poop out as he too wants to move.
Anything you can do to help would be greatly appreciated. If you can't make a donation, please share this on any social networking sites you may use.
Thanks.
