We all know a veteran, but what we may not know is that the Department of Veteran Affairs estimates that more than 400 WWII veterans die each day. Not every veteran has had the opportunity to visit the memorial in Washington D.C. dedicated in their honor just 10 years ago.
North Country Honor Flight, located in Plattsburgh, NY, is a group of volunteer individuals dedicated to getting our WWII and Korean War veterans to Washington D.C. so that they can visit the memorial which was built in their honor.
A group of students in a public relations class at SUNY Plattsburgh have partnered up with Honor Flight to help in this feat.
Many of the veterans who go on these flights are either very elderly or currently live with a terminal illness. We want these veterans to be tasked with one last mission: experience an Honor Flight and see their respective war memorial paying tribute to these brave heroes.
Please give up a moment of your time to commemorate the years of sacrifice given up by our nation's heroes.
