Attorney costs

Hi. My name is Amanda I am 22 years old and employed with Prince William county food services. I live in Woodbridge VA with my dog and twin sister. When I was 15-16 years old I got into some trouble and was charged with a felony for narcotics. I completed drug programs and probation and was petition to have my juvenile record sealed. I haven't been into trouble since not even tickets. I'm a good member to society and serve the kids there food at the schools as a substitute lunch lady. I had to have a background check and it cleared and I was also fingerprinted for this job. For the past 5 years I did not think for a min that I was a felon. A couple weeks ago I went into gander mtn and wanted to purchase a firearm. I love in a bad area and I just wanted to have something to protect me in case I needed it. I was denied by the VA state police to purchase a firearm I was very confused and called the stat police to ask why I was denied. He said I am a felon. A few days ago the VA state police came knocking on my door and said that he had my files and was taking it to Commonwealth for them to decide if they wanted to charge me with another felony of trying g to purchase a firearm being a felon
I had no idea that I was a felon. Yesterday I was told by the state police that he had a warrant for my arrest and I was to turn myself in at 7pm, I agreed not knowing what that really meant. Finally I thought things through and decided that I probly need an attorney present not knowing how serious this charge really is. I have hired the best attorney in pince William county whom called the state trooper to tell him I would not be turning myself in over thanksgiving weekend. On Dec 7th 2015 I am to turn myself in with my attorney present. It is going to cost me a minimum of $5,000. I am not asking for that amount just a little help as I am 22 years old and do not have that kind of money. I don't want this mistake to ruin my life all over again. Christmas is right around the corner so you don't have to donate much even 1$ would help me. I would appreciate all the help I can get.
