Save Burien's Substation Trees
Donation protected
The cherry tree and surrounding conifers at 144th and Ambaum in Burien have stood for over 40 years at a former Seattle City Light substation location. The location has now been decommissioned. Much of the site is in the process of being cleared of surrounding, contaminated soil
For the time being ,City of Burien and Seattle City Light have agreed to retain the trees. However, the property is zoned for commercial use and can be sold for that purpose by Seattle City Light unless we can demonstrate community support to encourage City of Burien to purchase the property for possible use as a pocket park.
The City is requesting we make a good faith effort to obtain $9000 as a demonstration of wide, community support for keeping the trees as a part of our city.
Your financial support is needed to make this happen before April 6th! No amount is too small so please give generously to SAVE OUR TREES!
THANKS FOR YOUR GENEROSITY!!
