Nels' Skull Surgery

Sweet baby Nels is having surgery on his skull.  Specifically, he will be having a craniosynostosis.  Craniosynostosis (kray-nee-o-sin-os-TOE-sis) is when one or more of the fibrous joints between the bones of a baby's skull (cranial sutures) close prematurely (fuse), before a baby's brain is fully formed. Nels' has been fused since birth! Brain growth continues, giving the head a misshapen appearance.  Surgery is needed to prevent neurological issues later in life.  In Nels' case, his brain needs room to continue to grow as it still has a lot of growing to do!  The surgeon will open up little man from ear to ear and reform his skull so that it can grow correctly.   Medical bills, travel, time off work and medications are quickly adding up.  Please consider donating to this sweet family during this stressful time!
