Uplift Infinity Preparatory is a Title 1 Public Charter School in south Irving, Texas whose mission is to prepare 100% of it's scholars to thrive in college and serve responsibly in their communities.
While Infinity's main focus is preparing our scholars academically, research shows that teenagers who participate in sports are typically better off both academically and socially. Like many teenagers, sports--particularly soccer-- are very important to Infinity scholars. Many of our male scholars gather on the Infinity fields on weekday afternoons, weekends, and even during the summer months to play soccer with one another. At such a formative time in our scholar's lives, the opportunity to play soccer provides these scholars with a reason to avoid any negative influences in their community, while also fostering sportsmanship and leadership skills.
However, as our soccer season is quickly approaching, the homemade soccer goals that have stood on our fields for the past 5 years are now in unusable condition due to wind and rain damage. Being a charter school with a majority low-income population, we lack the funds to replace these goals ourselves.
A donation to help us purchase new, more durable goals would not only benefit the social and emotional growth of our entire campus community, but it would also provide our scholars with a reminder that they are incredibly valued and supported beyond the classroom.
