Dr. Neupane & Kalpana- Nepal Crisis

Donation protected
Only a few hours before the ground shook and buildings crumbled in Nepal, our community’s own Dr. Neupane and Kalpana Pokhrel landed in Kathmandu. Both from Nepal, they had planned a trip to re-unite with their families after years of not seeing each other. Accompanying them was another friend, an elderly woman, who wanted the opportunity to experience Nepal’s beauty.  They left Rock Springs just days earlier, only to be greeted in Nepal with disaster.

Upon hearing the news of the quake in Rock Springs, uneasy feelings started to come over us as several friends and co-workers tried to reach both Dr. Neupane and Kalpana. We received word from a family member living in Rock Springs that Dr. Neupane, Kalpana, and their families had survived.

However, severe damage occurred to their homes. Most of their belongings were lost in the rubble. They spent nights sleeping in tents in the fields, others in the streets, to remain out of harm’s way. With minimal means of communication, a loss of electricity, water supply, food supply, and shelter it was all we could do as friends to send our thoughts and prayers their way. With the monsoon season underway, we hope Dr. Neupane, Kalpana and their family remain safe and warm.

Dr. Neupane and Kalpana are part of our hospital family. We are asking for your support, from our family to theirs, as they try to survive the devastation.

Please donate to our Dr. Neupane and Kalpana- Nepal Family fund. Our goal is to support and give back to the families of both Dr. Neupane and Kalpana for giving our community two people who make a large difference in the care provided here at Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County.

All funds raised will be given to Dr. Neupane and Kalpana to provide support for their families as they move forward through this disaster.
