How will a new laptop help?
Aside from not having the problems my current one has, it will also be fast. Running the software required for my classes (Visual Studio 2015 or 2017) would be a breeze. A new machine with more energy-efficient hardware would mean longer battery life - important considering my programming class is 2 hours long.
What's wrong with my current laptop (pictured above)?
My current laptop is old and slow. The internal antennas are broken so it won't stay connected to a wireless network unless it's within 6 feet of the base station.
The keyboard is worn out and somehow delaminated from the backing plate, so typing on it is difficult, and a lot noisier than it should be.
The charge meter is broken. Once the battery gets down to about half, the charge indicator produces random values. Completely unreliable.
Recently, the display cable broke. I really can't use it at school anymore, which means I can't do my assignments while hanging with friends at the Student Center.
Current laptop can run VS17, right?
Technically, yes, and it does. Unfortunately, there are times when typing my code where it will freeze, and freeze hard. I've had to wait a few minutes for it to respond to input. VS17 isn't the only software to have this problem.
What I will buy:

Kitty, that machine isn't $2,300.
Not the base configuration, no. I will have certain upgrades. Additionally, I'm asking for a little bit more than I need to cover shipping. Any extra left over will be used to buy other things I need, like fuel for my car.
