New Seat & Wheelchair for Eric

Donation protected
Calling all Hookipa surfers to help support our friend Eric Walls.

Many of you know or see Eric scooting up and down the sand at Point every winter, or you've caught waves next to him or he's listened to your problems, thoughts or complaints or he's helped you get back in the water after your injury....

Well, he needs a little help from us to help keep him safe. A very common issue for people who use wheelchairs is pressure sores. Because they can't feel their butt and are ALWAYS in a seated position, after time, wounds can develop which are a nightmare to heal.  These wounds can be life threatening for many as well, not to mention, you cant surf with them....

After battling an extra gnarly one this winter, it was suggested to Eric to get a special seat for his wheelchair in the shape of his butt.  This will help take pressure off where his bones sit in his wheelchair and hopefully curb these sores from forming.

As we all know, the US isn't the cheapest place to get injured or sick and unfortunately insurance wont cover this very very important piece of equipment to help keep our friend safe and healthy and surfing with us for many many years to come.

We're asking for help from our community far and wide to help pay for this new seat, back rest and chair.

Please give anything you can, and help share the word for this epic human who has inspired and helped this community so much.

*****UPDATE****

ALOHA ALL! Thank you so much for all your donations to help Eric get what he needs to heal and get back in the water. We haven't posted an update recently because some things have been changing and evolving. Eric got his new seat formed to his butt cheeks! (Still gotta pay that bill...)

Unfortunately, that is not the end of this issue. Once you change the height of the cushion, it effect the size and height of the whole chair... Now Eric needs a whole new chair set up so that he can safely move from his chair to his truck, couch, beach, etc and back. He started having shoulder problems because of this and is working with a PT friend in California still.

Lets help him get his new shinny rig together and healed up so he can charge with us this winter!! Thank you so everyone who has donated and shared so far!

Eric is so stoked at the love he has gotten.
Ohana means family and family means no one gets left behind. <3 Check out and share this video that Maui Cartel made sharing a bit more of Eric's personal story....
