Newtown Synagogue Renewal Campaign
Donation protected
With thanks to Hashem, Newtown Synagogue is celebrating 100 years! Grandparents were married, Bar- and Bat-Mitzvahs are being celebrated and babies have been named here. Our weekly Shabbat services and dinners, holiday programs, classes and lectures are going strong. Our memberships have increased, with families coming from the Blue Mountains, Central Coast and the Eastern Suburbs in addition to local areas.
We are launching some renovation projects so that Newtown Shul can remain an important, vibrant and relevant community in the Inner West and broader NSW communities.
Here is a brief outline of our plans for the shul: Internal walls will be fixed and painted, new ventilation will be installed to avoid growth of mould, the roof and gutters will be cleaned and restored and the front of the building will be repaired and modernized for wheelchair accessibility.
We look forward to sharing this exciting undertaking with you, as we open a new and dramatic chapter in our shul’s illustrious history.
