School Board Campaign - Candia, NH
February 19, 2017
Dear Friends & Family,
Over the next few weeks I will be running a campaign to maintain my seat on the Candia School Board.
If you are able to make a $25 donation, it will be very much appreciated. We will put the funds towards the cost of yard signs, printed materials, and mailing costs.
The election will be held on March 14th, any funds remaining will be donated to the school for equality based programs.
Please feel free to reach out to me if I can answer any questions, provide additional details, or if you just want to chat. Thank you!
-Nicole
By working closely with fellow Board members, administration and community members, we have been able to make great strides to ensure a robust education is provided for all students. Achievements include:
-Implementation a Full Day Kindergarten program
-Adoption of a Transgender and Gender Non-Conforming policy to ensure all students are treated with respect and have the opportunity to a positive educational experience; regardless of their gender identity.
-New Language Arts & Math programs
-Enhancements in technology which provide top notch classroom environments and a one-to-one ratio of devices so students and teachers have the tools required for a 21st century education
-Consistent facilities improvements including upgrades in security for the entire campus
-Enhancement of the professional development programs for all teachers & staff members
-Development of a more streamlined and on-point financial system which offers better management of annual budgets and forecasting of future school requirements
- Pinkerton Academy ...We executed a study to determine which High School would be the best long term partner for Candia; followed by negotiating a 20 year contract with Pinkerton Academy which many said couldn't be done, yet our community approved it with a 90% acceptance ratio on the March 2016 ballot. We didn't stop there, instead we stayed focused and negotiated an early exit from Manchester to ensure students who wanted to enroll at Pinkerton immediately were not denied that opportunity.
-We developed strong relationships with fellow community Boards and Committees including hosting an "All Boards Meeting" in the Spring of 2015.
In the next three years, there are several pivotal decisions that will be made by the Candia School Board. Having experienced School Board members working collaboratively in making these decisions will greatly benefit our community. Some of those decisions include: updating the science and health curriculum, raising student achievement in math and language arts, continue to upgrade the facility, finalize a plan to address school grounds, develop a long term plan for the district based upon projected student population, and last but not least, hire a new Superintendent for SAU15.
My wife Kerry and I have lived in Candia for 18 years. We find Candia to be a wonderful community to raise our family. Our children are thriving at the Henry Moore School and we look to a very positive future for not only our children, but all of the students in Candia.
My background also includes spending the last 25 years in a professional sales role where I have learned the art of complex problem solving. I hold undergraduate and graduate degrees in Marketing, Economics and Finance. My role on the Candia School Board has been, and will hopefully continue as an educationally focused advocate that will find solutions that best meet the needs of this amazing community.
Respectfully, I ask for your vote, and in return I will continue to work hard for the community of Candia, thank you.
