Nicole's DR CONGO Research Fund
Donation protected
Hi everyone,
For those who do not know me, my name is Nicole Yohe and I am a first year graduate student at the University of Florida. I am pursuing my M.A. in Sustainable Development Practice (MDP) with a concentration in Women and Gender development in East Africa.
This summer I will conduct my MDP field practicum in Goma, DRC, researching connections bewteen policy strategies and promoting long-term social behavior change.
In addition to my research, I will be volunteering with HOLD-DRC, a Congolese non-governmental organization that provides an integrated approach to restoring women, who have experienced gender-based violence into society. HOLD strives to address policy change, and provides an advocacy network, support groups, training in financial savings, and access to credit. Through education programs, women of HOLD also learn about their own sexual and reproductive health, how to identify and prevent diseases, and proper hygiene, and water use.
I will use all donations towards the following:
Airplane Ticket to Goma, DRC
Room and Board
Language Training
Educational Material
I kindly ask for your help so I can pursue my MDP field practicum and volunteer to help women at HOLD-DRC. Words cannot express my gratitude for those that offer their support. While my goal is $2,000, a $1 donation would mean the world to me. For those of you that are willing, I would really appreciate it if you could simply share my post to your friends and family and spread the word. Giving is reciprocal and I promise with your donation you will be rewarded with the joy of knowing I am giving my time to improve the lives of others around the world who are less fortuante.
Thank you so much for your support!
Nicole
