Hello,
Some of you reading this may know me and some of you may not but here is my story.
Recently, on May 12, 2018 I had the opportunity to graduate from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois with a dual Bachelors in Psychology and Sociology, also with a certificate in criminology all while graduating cum laude as a first generation college graduate. I am a proud member of the National Society of CollegIate Scholars and Alpha Kappa Delta which is an international sociological honor society.
These past four years of undergrad have been financially challenging but the reward has been great. I have accumulated thousands of dollars in student loans which now put me in a difficult position to financially support myself to further my education. Currently, I am 1 of 13 individuals who have been selected, through a rigorous application and interview process, to begin graduate school at Northern Illinois University for the Marriage and Family Therapy program in Fall of 2018. Now that I have been given this great opportunity, I am reaching out to you all for help to bring my goals and dreams into fruition.
Nobody really tells you about the financial hardships that you will face after you graduate. As a graduate student, I will no longer be able to receive grants to help fund my education as I did in the past as an undergraduate student. This means that the only offers for financial aid that are given to me are more loans. It is my desire to complete this program and earn my masters in marriage and family therapy in order to help others and change their lives for the better. I will be able to do this with your help.
Every donation, no matter how great or small, will be received with much gratitude and appreciation. ALL money will be used for the specific purpose of helping me fund my graduate education. I sincerely thank you in advance for your support.
