Nifty Knitters for Newborns is a non-profit organization that provides layettes for Midland Memorial Hospital in Midland, Texas. A team of women knit, crochet, and sew caps, booties, bibs, and blankets for babies born at the hospital. We make deliveries monthly to Kim Modisett, director of volunteers at Midland Memorial.
The organization, which was formed in March 2017, delivered over 2000 items to the hospital the first year. Expenses for buying onesies from Carter's Baby Store, fabric, yarn, and supplies total over $150 monthly. Nifty Knitters for Newborns is funded entirely by donations.
