1000 Steps for Maygan
Donation protected
My name is Glenn Browne and I plan on walking the 1000 Steps in FernTree Gully on December 13th 2015 at 10.30am, to raise money for my friend Fiona who has a disabled daughter called Maygan. Fiona's car recently blew up and I want to be able to raise the money to fix it, so she is able to transport Maygan. Fiona is a single mum of 2 kids, Maygan and Ethan 15, and works as a Disability Support Worker. An excellent job, one that has to take a lot of love, empathy and patience however not a well paying job. So it is a struggle for her on her own.
Fiona has written her story which you can read below.
Fiona writes:
Maygan is a beautiful lady of 19. Maygan came into this world with 10 fingers and 10 toes. The normal things parents check for. It was the happiest day of my life when I gave birth to a healthy baby girl. She grew and did all of the things you would expect. People would stop me in the street to tell what a beautiful baby I had. One night Maygan got sick and my life and my baby girls life changed. By the morning Maygan was in a induced coma fighting for her life. Maygan had contracted Meningococcal Septicaemia it was the 3rd worst case they had seen in Britain. They really didn't think Maygan would survive. Her beautiful father and I were devastated. Maygan lost her right leg and had a bleed to the brain which meant she has a condition called dystonia un seen in children. When Maygan was sick they tried a new drug and took her culture which help form a vaccination that saves lives every day. My daughter continues the fight every day but one day I am going to loose her as they have said nothing more can be done. Maygs is the happiest smartest most lovely person I have had the precious gift given to me, she always amazes those around her. This has been the a very hard thing for me to ask for help but if it's a benefit to my darling Maygan I'm going too.
Thank You Glenn.
As you can see its a touching story. Please help me to raise the funds needed.
Thank you all.
