NO ONE FIGHTS ALONE PJ 14

Dear family, friends and valued readers:

Most of you probably already know our son PJ , but for those who don't let me tell you a little bit about him. PJ is a funny, caring, and outgoing 17 year old. He loves sports (broomball is his all-time favorite but baseball is a close second). He is a loving son, brother, and an amazing uncle to Summer and Aria. I'd say that he is like any other teenage boy except that he isn't. He is such a kind, involved good kid.

As some of you may know back in February he started to feel a bit off. It was around this time that he had let me know he hadn't been feeling well he thought it would go away. Unfortunely it wasn't your run of the mill cold or flu. Along with the sweats , aches to his bones and joints there was also an extreme weight loss (45 pounds!), fatigue, loss of appetite , and abnormally nose bleeds. When we took him for testings numerous times his blood work always came back normal. PJ was also hospitalized back in March due to him not being able to stay awake or eat. We were so confused since his symptoms seemed to be getting worst. We had many people telling us to go to London. So I drove with my son and went to the emergency department there. After what seemed like an endless number of tests . we haven't talked about it much and didn't want to tell many people, not wanting them to feel sorry for us and hoping there was an error.

Unfortunately circumstances have caused us to share this news with you. We are currently trying to get to the bottom of what's going on.  PJ is  remaining strong and hopeful, travelling back and forth every two weeks to London has put us in a bind financially. We stay in London 3-4 days.  To make matters worse we found out last month he has also been diagnosed with Crohn's Disease. While we have tried to explore many options as possible we haven't had much luck. and while his medications during treatment are medically necessary some are not even covered. Between the travel, medical and medication costs we are struggling. We are asking that you donate any amount, to help us through this tough time. We are reaching out to family, friends, and community. The money raised will go towards hotel, food, medication, blood work, gas expense, parking and as well as any additional medical costs (like blood work) that we have been encountering.

Thank you so much for all of your support, prayers and help. We cannot tell you how much we appreciate it.

Love, Cacilhas Family
