#NODAPL! Building a New World

*please read most recent update as the fund has changed*
My name is Molly Steele. Many of you may know me as a someone who has advocated for environmental and human rights issues, often through the vessel of my photography (Instagram and Website) .
I've set up this fund to help support those who have travelled to North Dakota to join the prayerful resistence of the Dakota Access Pipeline, a pipeline that threatens water resources for millions of people along the Missouri River.
Many, including myself, have left their homes and jobs for this and are determined to be here for as long as is deemed possible and effective through the long and harsh North Dakota winter.
Helping to get people on the ground is absolutely vital and being called for by the many tribes present.
To those of you who are new to this issue, thousands of indigenous people and non-native allies have been peacefully praying and protesting the pipeline since April 1, 2016. In recent months, $10million has been allocated by law enforcement that has manifested in the violent abuse of these water protectors on land that has been desecrated by the construction of the pipeline. Despite the many photos and videos released showing these ongoing abuses, the federal government has not stepped in, and hundreds of peaceful water protectors are being unlawfully beaten and arrested and charged with felonies. There have been global calls from the camps asking for support from those who can come and join the frontlines to build the strength of the protest.
We want to be sure that we are self-sufficient and ready to join the camps to share our resources, not to use theirs (food, water, shelter, etc). Your donations allow us to do this.
Even $20 goes a long way to help someone travel to Standing Rock and be there for as long as is necessary and effective. Any excess funds will go directly to the tribes.
Your support, whether it be monetary, physical, material, or through media, is of immeasurable help to end this atrocious act against the land and water protectors. This is a moment in history. Being neutral is not an option.
Unicorn Riot is a media source that has made available a ton of footage showing what is happening if you'd like to check it out.
