#noDAPL Tampa Fundraiser
Standing Rock, now more than ever, is in need of our bodies, minds, and energy to protect water, support indigenous sovereignty, and prevent the continuation of genocide against indigenous people.
The Army Corps of Engineers has recently announced an eviction of the Oceti Sakowin camp to take place on December 5th. A coalition statement was released asking for any and all supporters to come to resist this violation of Lakota treaty land. An updated announcement from The U.S. Army states that the easement of the drilling across the Missouri River was denied. Instead, an Environmental Impact Statement has been ordered, which does not necessarily stop drilling altogether.
We want to be prepared to bring peaceful warriors and medical personnel in time to support this prayerful resistance camp throughout this process.
The Tampa community has already made numerous trips to Standing Rock, bringing with them water, firewood, medical equipment, personal protective equipment to guard against police violence, food, cold weather gear and numerous long-term volunteers. We wish to continue to make these trips as the elders and protest oganizers request, but our resources are running low.
WE NEED YOUR HELP.
WATER IS LIFE.
Thank you TYT Politics for the amazingly beautiful video.
