Nom Eats - a little too hot in the kitchen

Robyn Gurinskas, Carly Gurinskas, and Ian McIntosh started Nom Eats vegan food truck in October of 2014 because you can never have enough vegan food. Well fast forward to June 10th, 2019...a little into our 5th year of doing this thing...and we get a phone call "Hey the neighbor says Nom is on fire!"...and it is...we're HAWT, but turns out in this case it's literal fire...like flames and all. So we rush over to Pat's (Maxwell's Barbershop's owner) and meet up with Maurice and Megan (Pitch Black Printing Co./Drag Me Under) and the Reno Fire Department is there, hoses off...everything is covered in soot and water...roof melted, right side of the truck melted, most of the windows gone...nothing on any shelves...beans and bean juice on everything. There's a mound of BBQ sauce on the counter (I didn't even know what it was until I licked it...that's how you test things, right?). There I am rummaging through the piles of soot trying to find some memento...and it's all just melted away.
This is where YOU come in! We LOVE NOM EATS...we LOVE what we do, we think you guys LOVE it too. I (Ian) think this thing is savable...and if it's not then we continue moving forward, we do the next thing...whatever that is, but we don't let this die down. Veganism is HUGE now, and it us it has always been huge. We used to go out SUPER late at night at Reno Public House and just kind of hide the fact that it's vegan so drunk people can't complain too much...and now we're here...Beyond Meat is one of the hugest IPO's in recent history...I can walk into Del Taco and grab vegan tacos (that are actually listed on the menu). This party train don't stop here. We need the community's support...we need help to get this thing back, or to get back into the food business somehow. Our busy season was just ramping up, and I'm sure we'll miss all or most of it no matter what...but there's always tomorrow and the next day. So please donate anything, any amount of money, share, repost, tell a colleague, hell donate time and effort...whatever is next you can guarantee we'll need physical help in doing that thing!
HUGE Thank You and ❤️ to everyone that has reached out to us already...all the businesses and the people from Reno, Sparks, Carson, Tahoe, the Bay, Oregon, and beyond! It all means a lot to us.
