Help Norris Cross the Finish Line
Donation protected
Norris, a 19 year old with Cerebral Palsy - Spastic Diplegia, needs your help to achieve his dream of reaching the 2020 Paralympics in Tokyo.
Although Norris has already broken several records since joining the Navigators Paralympic Track Team in May 2016 (broke the National Records in the 200 and 800 meters at Nationals in Wisconsin - July 2016 while taking home 8 gold & 3 silver medals), he is striving for the global arena which demands added dedication, training, and the best equipment possible.
***Here's where we need YOUR help***
Norris is in need of Corima Carbon wheels and a roller trainer that will allow him to be able to train indoors, regardless of the weather. These additions to his daily training routine will increase his potential for success at the 2017 National Championships and the 2017 IPC National Championship.
The cost for the Corima 700 C wheels and training equipment is $4000 and the travel costs to get to Switzerland for the Olympic Trials will be just over $1,000 which is why we are aiming for our goal of $5,000.
Every donation and share of this page helps immensely.
***More on Norris***
Norris is an amazing young man with an incredible future in racing through the support of the many great fans behind him, most notably being his school Physical Therapist who's been championing Norris for almost 12 years and is now his guardian.
Watching him learn to walk with a walker only 3 short years ago, it has been a spectacular journey to see him develop and take on more ambitious interests, such as wheelchair basketball and track.
Norris is also excited to be attending Parkland Community College on a full scholarship and will be racing for University of Illinois this fall.
***More about the wheels***
Racing wheels are subjected to some very extreme conditions. The inclined position of the wheel creates tremendous pressure on the inner sides and the forces applied by the athletes on the push-rims requires the wheels to be strong and stiff. It's for these performance criteria that CORIMA wheels are considered the best on the market by handisport athletes.
