Northridge Elementary Playground

In 1954 Northridge Elementary school opened its doors to Bismarck children.  Since then thousands of students have learned, engaged and played.  Many of the relationships established at Northridge have continued well into adulthood.

Today, we need your help to make sure the students of Northridge, now and in the future, get the benefit of that same experience.  The playground, where so many developed physical and social skills that carried them through to adulthood, was showing the love of the Northridge Superstars gave it over the years. After all these years the playground now needs new equipment for the enjoyment and safety of our students. 

So far with fundraisers, grant applications and private donations we were able to install safe ground cover, four new tire swings and an awesome new sky runner (picture grabbing a bar above your head and swinging around a center post).  Safe equipment comes at a price and we need your help!  We need a little over $35,000 to purchase a large activity center for our older kids (the total cost is about $50,000 for this equipment).  Our deadline to order the equipment is March of 2017 so we are working hard now to pull the funds together.

In a time when academics and testing are taking priority, we need our kids to make the very most out of their time on the playground.  Remember the freedom of recess?  Remember stretching for that fire pole and the rush of sliding down to the ground from the top of the “big” slide?  Let’s give this generation and generations to come those same experiences with great new equipment that will last for decades.  Will you please dig deep for our Superstars?
