The team needs to raise between $30,000 - $40,000 for airfare, lodging and expenses. We are inviting our community and friends to please help by making any donation that they can. Every little bit helps. Time is short. We have to pay for lodging and airfare by this Friday so please help spread the word if you know someone that can help make this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity a reality for these girls.
This is a team of 12 players (ranging in age from 8 - 11) who played on 3 different teams for 6 weeks during North Side Babe Ruth League season before trying out and being selected to represent the league this year at the Idaho State Tournament, in which they became the State Champions on July 2nd defeating East Boise 9-6.
The 10U North Side all-stars won the Pacific Northwest Regional championship on Saturday July 16th against the All-stars from Ellensburg Washington who were the Washington State Champions.
The North Side girls faced teams from East Boise, Kuna, Meridian and Ellensburg. North Side tied the team from East Boise in a rematch from the State Championship 10-10 on Thursday morning followed by a 14-0 victory over Kuna Thursday afternoon. On Friday North Side lost to Meridian 3-13 but came back and defeated Ellensburg, who had gone undefeated in pool play up to that point.
The girls entered the single elimination play on Saturday morning as the number two seed facing off once again against East Boise. This time North Side came out on top 13-7 defeating East Boise in the semi-final game.
North Side faced off once again against Ellensburg in the Championship game after they defeated Meridian in their semi-final game.
North Side came out and jumped on Ellensburg quickly 2 runs in the 1st and 2nd innings while holding Ellensburg to their only run in the 2nd. inning. North Side continued to add runs by scoring 3 runs in both the 3rd and 4th innings bringing their total to 10 runs. In the 5th inning North Side scored the last run needed to end the game with a 10 run lead and win the Pacific Northwest Regional Championship.
The team now looks to the Babe Ruth World Series in Jensen Beach Florida August 4 - 11.
These amazing girls want to represent the Pacific Northwest and Idaho on the world stage. They would be so thankful for whatever you can donate and help.
