Norwalk High School Holiday Support

Donation protected
When thinking of the winter holidays, most people have thoughts of celebrations, family time, wonderful meals, and abundance.

However, for many of my high school students, the holidays equal isolation, hunger, and need.

With more than 10% of Norwalk's children living below the poverty level, the two week break from school means that nearly 1100 students (10% of our 11,000+ enrollment) are at risk of being  without the free and reduced breakfast and lunch that they receive throughout the year, and possibly without the warmth that our school buildings provide.

Please help me in making this holiday time a little warmer, a little sweeter, and much more meaningful for these students by donating whatever you can to help provide gift cards for food and necessities to our families in need.  Several incredibly generous individuals have "adopted" students for the holidays but we still have many, many more students who can benefit from your help.

The money donated will go to purchase gift cards to local grocery stores and big box stores like Walmart, where basic necessities can be purchased (hygiene items, cleaning supplies, undergarmets, etc...), as well as to provide small holiday gifts to families who may not otherwise have anything to exchange.

I am filling some very large footsteps this year, and hoping to raise at least $2,500 to match last year's contributions.

Any amount will be invaluable to these families in need this holiday season.  Thank you, thank you, thank you!
