#StepUpAndRideOn

Hi,

I'm Vedangi and in July, 2018 I plan on attempting to be the fastest woman to circumnavigate the world on bicycle. Being 19, I might also be the youngest woman to do it. This also explains that, as of now, I'm a pretty poor cyclist  BUT with a strong determination to cycle around the world.

My route starts and ends at Perth. I'll be cycling across Australia, New Zealand, U.S.A, Canada, Portugal, Spain, France, Belgium, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Russia, Mongolia and China. I plan on cycling 200 miles per day. You can have a look at the detailed route on my website : https://www.vedangikulkarni.com

I plan on promoting the campaign #StepUpAndRideOn  as I cycle around the world. Through this I endeavour to promote the importance of actually going out there, trying something new, doing something that was initially ‘scary’, i.e. going on an adventure, the idea of which is entirely subjective to the individual. I can safely say that I'm a pretty crazy person doing crazy things and would definitely want to live in a world of fearless people who feel invincible! So this is what it's gonna be about.

The rules for the GWR attempt include cycling 29000km(40,075km total distane including cycling and flights and ferries) either east to west or west to east, crossing two antipodal points( Wellington, NZ and Madrid, Spain), using the same bike throughout the journey, etc. As an evidence I plan on recording my rides using strava or ridewithgps, write blogs or updates about the day's ride and make vlogs a couple of times in the week.

Now, I know what you're thinking- WHY SHOULD WE HELP HER!
So here's the thing: Pleeeeaaase? Just Kidding. I do have a solid reason.
It has been barely a year and a half that I got into this cycling thing to find my freedom and explore what's around. During the course, I managed to cycle some pretty rad Himalayan routes,  do a self supported bike  tour from Bournemouth to John O'Groats and  attempt  London-Edinburgh-London in which I did manage to nearly break my knee but came back 4 days later to finish what I'd started...some 1000-1200km from my crash point to Edinburgh and back to London in some 60 odd hours(or should I say even?). So basically, I'm pretty stubborn to finish what I start...which is to say, I WILL make it around the world, trust me, I'm training for it. Like, more than I ever have before.

The money would be used for the following purposes:

•     Bicycle equipment

•     Bicycle repair

•     Visas(before the attempt)

•     Accommodation(during the attempt)

•     Air travel tickets

•     Food(during the attempt)

Hope I get to be a proud finisher of this attempt all thanks to you angels who'd help me out in making it all the way round the world!

Thanks,
Vedangi
