No Country for Eyed Men

My name is Ozz Borges, a young Cuban born filmmaker and producer.

I'm asking you today to support a project that I believe will evoke thought and leave the watcher a better person, especially younger people in their formidable years.

This short film will mean a tremendous amount to me and minority communities because the story conveys a powerful message about ignorance in a powerful and dramatic way that lingers with the audience, and might change some minds.

The film is based on a story of the English writer H.G Wells, so you know it’s great, and is set somewhere in the South American Andes. This story deals with humanity, relationships, beliefs, and most importantly the perils of ignorance.

Ignorance is a huge enemy of all humans, which begs the question “what do we need to know to not be ignorant?” The answer is: to have an open mind and know that anything is possible. I hope the film's message reaches every corner of the planet and in every language. 

Every dollar is accounted for and we are on a very very strict budget. Know that every dollar goes to creating something that will spread goodwill for years to come and that you are a vital part of the process.

Many of the team are working for far less than their normal rates because they believe in the project. The money being raised here will be used to pay the super low budget talent, Director of Photography, shooting expenses, CGI and post-production expenses, website, and festival submission fees and expenses. Maybe a few dollars for makeup I will need to use to look good on my directorial debut?

As much money as you guys will love to drop, will be needed ASAP. Seriously, now that you're reading this would be the best time to put some dimes in it. Production will start as soon as July 14th and will take place in the cold mountains of Canada for 10 days. Then, we will move the shooting to LA where we will need to use a small set and green screen for several scenes. And as you know for the cheapest flights, we would need to book the flights yesterday. 

My team and I will be so thankful that we will be dropping some gifts to each one of you once our film is done. (Whisper: it will be a digital copy of the film plus the greatest and cheapest t-shirts for the first 30 donators the money we have left over can buy. Of course having in mind that we actually achieve our goal).
