Taking Lunenburg County on the Road

Lunenburg County is a gem of a community just an hour from Halifax in beautiful Nova Scotia, Canada. We're surrounded by beaches and incredibly hard working, authentic people. We are lucky to have had a number of large corporations invest in our communtites, as well as creative and ambitious entrepreneurs who've done the same. On any given day in Lunenburg County we produce airplane parts, cranberries, tires, video games, designer hats, Hascap jam, maple syrup, craft beer, rum, boats, websites, and furniture, to name a few. We're cleaning our water, conserving our woodlands and protecting our aquaculture. We're teaching our kids, taking care of the sick and building life enhancing technologies. This is a great time to live in Lunenburg County!

But like every community in the Maritimes and beyond our most precious natural resource is our people. We must keep them while attracting more. We need more vibrant, young and old newcomers. We need them to help build the future of Lunenburg County!

So we're going on the road, sharing with the rest of Canada what makes us so special! We'll be traveling the Country to show people the jobs we have here, the housing that is so affordable, the climate that is superb for agriculture, the streets and trails that are safe for walking, the plethora of activities for families of all ages, and the possibilities that exist in creating a life you love in Lunenburg County.

And yet we don't have it all. We don't have everything. We don't have public transportation (yet), or an Indonesian restaurant (yet) or even a Starbucks (Trust me, you won't miss it. We have incredible coffee) What we do have are endless opportunities. What we don't have proves that there are gaps in the market; an opportunity for an ambitious newcomer to make their mark, and we'll be asking them to follow me back to Lunenburg County!

We need the help of our community and beyond to make this a reality! We want to go as far as we can to big cities and small, rural communitites to spread the word about Lunenburg County!

We've purchased a 1976 (Canadian made) Boler Camper and fixed it up using the products and services in Lunenburg County businesses. We'll need gas, hotels, and coffee money. It's a costly venture, and fortunately, we have corporate sponsors who see the incredible potential and value of this project, but it won't be enough, so we need you to help us bring people here; people who may just be your neighbours, your co-workers, your child's teacher, a community volunteer, your doctor or a community leader.
