My name is Melanie I have been a single mom for 23 years on October 23 of this year. I have really enjoyed being a single parent and I think I did a good job even with everything I went through. The male dependency, evictions, the Child prptective services and near death beating in front of my daughter just to mention a small part of my past. My friends call me a strong woman. I don't feel very strong right now. I am about to loose everything I gained.
I have been unemployed since June 2013. I suffered an emotional breakdown and left my job on medical leave but was unable to obtain documentation from a doctor for it. Lost the last of my employment income in Nov 2013. Lived off my then 16 year old daughters VA allotment she recieved from her abscent father's VA disability. It was $200 a month and paid for our storage unit and toiletries. We lost that in January when her father died 2 weeks prior to her 18th birthday. My daughter stayed with a wonderful christian family so she remained in school. She graduated and we are now living together trying to help each other, but we are struggling. She just found a new job after catching a stomach virus which caused her to loose her old one. I am having toubles with my medical conditions also having trouble finding a job that I can do that is accessible from the bus route. She won a college scholarship she is not going to be able to use because it expires next spring in less than 6 months. She wants to attend a culinary arts school in Louisville, Kentucky. She and I were gonna move there so she could attend school.
We need $400 by October 30 to keep the storage unit with all the childhood memories both for my kids and myself. We need a place to stay by Nov 3 for Crystal, my daughter, Saddie, my 4 legged daughter and me. Or we will be on the curb we signed a written statement on October 3rd and gave $369 in rent just to get that time. A wonderful christain woman from Cleveland UCC helped us with that on a loan basis. We are offically broke and have nothing to offer a landlord we spent it paying for rent where we staying right now. We were staying with friends and started saving money because we were just paying for food.
