Nursing Study Abroad to Nicaragua!

Hello all! My name is Nakeya Barksdale and I am currently a student at St. David's School of Nursing at Texas State University. I will be a senior in a few short weeks(Fall 2017), how exciting! I'm so close to that BSN-RN!
Like most universities, the School of Nursing is offering an amazing opportunity for students to travel to Managua, Nicaragua in which we will be providing health care to a community in need. Health promotion and preventive education will be provided via a translator. We will learn concepts of health disparity, cultural belief systems and assess the home environment via a walking community assessment. Interprofessional collaboration of treatment options will occur in the clinic and nursing home settings with physicians, respiratory care and laboratory science students.

I would really appreciate it if you could help me get on my way and have an experience of a life time. I love my profession and I can't wait to start doing what God has called me to do.
