Nutmeg Kitchens Seasonings

Nearly 10 years ago, I founded Nutmeg Kitchens, a personal chef and small event catering company. As chief cook and bottle washer, I created a word of mouth following that has allowed me to serve a wide swath of clients in the San Francisco Mid-Peninsula area. It has been especially rewarding to be a part of my clients' special occasions, from baby and bridal showers to milestone birthdays and anniversaries to celebrating the life of a loved one.
Throughout this time, I have continually honed my craft, literally consuming all things cooking-related from cookbooks, magazines and blogs and many good meals prepared by myself and others. But the thing I've enjoyed the most is playing around on my own, for better or for worse - that hard cider mustard did not turn out as I expected, but it’s a work in progress!
Nutmeg Kitchens Handcrafted Seasonings is a result of my kitchen experimentation. Why should I purchase a seasoning blend or a rub when I could very well make my own? After gifting my first blend, Magic Mediterranean, to a number of friends, I was overwhelmed with questions about when it would be available for purchase. My second concoction, Chipotle-Brown Sugar Rub, has met with similar responses. Lemon-Ginger Warmth and Orange-Sage Warmth complete the quartet of Nutmeg Kitchens Handcrafted Seasonings. All blends are made with Pacific Blue™ kosher sea salt and only organic herbs and spices.
I have worked for many months to create the perfect combination of flavors in my blends and have developed recipes that will hopefully jumpstart the imaginations of those who purchase them. But now the hard part begins: finding the finances to make my dream a reality. I have secured my San Mateo County Cottage Food Operator permit allowing me to sell directly to the public and at farmers’ markets (a space is waiting for me at the Portola Valley Farmers’ Market!). The funds I raise here will go to purchasing ingredients and packaging materials, insurance, farmers’ market fees and marketing materials.
And what is your benefit for supporting me? Well, first and foremost, I hope it will be that you take pride in helping a small business person and any amount you can donate is apppreciated - many hands make light work. Besides my thanks, when you donate a minimum of $200, you will receive a Nutmeg Kitchens Handcrafted Seasonings Quartet twice annually for two years, along with new recipes I’ve developed. With a minimum donation of $100, you will receive a Quartet twice a year for one year. Please know that you will have my sincerest thanks no matter what amount you donate!
I hope to have the funds to go forward with this venture by September 2016 and take the holiday gift giving season by storm! Your support will enable me to do that!
My thanks are heartfelt as you consider contributing to my goal of bringing spice to as many kitchens as I can!
