Restoration of Historic“ Old Library “
Norcross, GA in honor of Lillian Hicks Webb
With the passing of Lillian Hicks Webb, many of us have lost a friend and colleague and a tireless supporter of the city of Norcross, GA. Many of her friends and political colleagues have asked about donations to a living memorial.
At the time of her passing September 15, 2016, "Miss Lillian," as she was lovingly called, was deeply involved in the preservation and restoration of the Old Library building built in 1921 by The Norcross Woman's Club at 65 North Peachtree Street in Norcross, Georgia. She shared with us that many hours of her youth were spent reading and doing homework in the Library.
The building has recently sustained roof damage that caused a portion of the ceiling to collapse, causing water damage. Funds are needed to complete a Conditions Assessment Report (CAR) by a historic preservation architect. A donation to the not-for-profit 501(C) (3) Norcross Woman’s Club would be a continuation of Miss Lillian's hope to repair and preserve the historic Old Library building. With your help, the Norcross Woman's Club can complete a total restoration and return the Old Library to use again as a sustaining, fundraising venue that will support the Norcross Woman's Club’s charitable community service programs.
