MISSION
The NyaEden Foundation aims to empower women and children through education, peace building, conflict resolution, and self- sufficiency.
VISION
NyaEden Foundation has a vision to see a healthier community and provide resources to promote self-sufficiency to women and children throughout Africa.
Background:
Nya: a derivative of the noun "Nyal", which means girl in the Nuer language. Traditionally the Nuer people of South Sudan and Western Ethiopia use the word Nya to reference a female or feminine name. Eden is referred to a peaceful place or garden. The symbolic Eden depicts a place or refuge and resources for women and children. The Founders Nyamal (Mal) and Kuoth both grew up in war-torn Sudan (now South Sudan) and Ethiopia, prior to resettling in the U.S. NyaEden was the perfect name for an organization that aims to empower women and children that have gone through the plight of war, offering a sense of Safety, Empowerment, Independence, Dignity, Greater Self Esteem, and Self Respect.
Both Nyamal and Kuoths' lived experience has enabled them to help their communities thrive. Nyamal’s background is in peace building and conflict resolution, Kuoth is an activist who advocates for refugees. The combination of their knowledge has allowed them to reach audiences and efficiently advocate for refugees and migrants.
We are fundraising to take: Menstrual Pads & Reproductive Health Education to refugee camps in Ethiopia. Together we can help change the lives of women, no donation is too small.
Thank you for all of your support in making sure we take these live saving kits to our sisters!
