DREAMing of Affordable College

Donation protected
The New York University chapter of the national College Advising Corps seeks to increase the number of low-income, first-generation, and underrepresented New York City students entering and completing post-secondary education. Throughout our 10 years as a city wide program, we have assisted over 15,000 students in successfully reaching this goal. However, many of our students have to face significant hurdles when it comes to accessing financial aid resources due to their legal residence status in this country. Despite many of our DREAMers being honor roll students, valedictorian, and athletes, they are often forced to postpone or not attend a college or university due to the lack of funding that is available to them.

As part of our initiative to ensure the success of all of our students, we are creating a fundraising campaign to help 10 of our current seniors that are undocumented, achieve their DREAM of attending and graduating from college. All funds raised will go directly to the cost of attending a 2-year or 4-year program through the CUNY system, including tuition, books, and transportation. The CUNY system is usually the most accessible and affordable option for our students, with many support programs to ensure that they are successful.

Costs for CUNY per year
Tutition - $6,330
Books - $500 (depending on major)
Fees - $640
Transportation - $1,312

Help us make college an option for all New Yorkers!
