RPSC's Oakland City-Wide Youth Art Show

Year after year, Art programs are cut from curriculum in Oakland schools. Youth scarcely have access to show work in Oakland's fantastic art galleries. Our 2019 Youth Program seeks to maintain a bridge for Oaland Youth into the Art Scene and participate in First Friday and Art Murmur. 

Every year we host a youth art show to promote young artists. The theme of this Rock Paper Scissors Collective 13th annual youth art exhibition is "SPACE". We are accepting Fine Art submissions for our gallery and pedestals as well as "Makers" to vend handmade items through our retail shop on the night of the opening.

The Rock Paper Scissors Collective is an Oakland-based, all volunteer-run organization that fosters creativity and collaboration to strengthen local communities and encourage sustainable practices and alternative models. We promote the sharing of ideas, skills, and resources through the celebration of art, craft, education, and performance. Rock Paper Scissors Collective is the sole remaining founder of the dynamic Oakland First Friday. We seek to ensure Oakland community and youth have access to the Arts festivities.

We seek to raise money for the production of the Youth Show including gallery supplies, refreshments, and for prize money awards for participants.
