Oakman School's 2nd grade garden

Hello my name is Jennifer and I am a second grade teacher at Oakman Elementary School.  For the remainder of the school year my students are going to be learning about plants.  I would love for my students to have the opportunity to grow their own vegetables in class  and then transplant them into a school and community garden that they have created.  Families could continue to come to the garden during the summer, water and tend the plants, and pick and eat what they have grown.  We have a wonderfully loving community, but as a title 1 school we do not have the money to buy the resources we need to complete this project.  

We need money for soil, fertilizer, seeds, garden tools, growing cups, and pots.  

I am looking for your help to teach the children that they can grow their own plants and food with some science knowledge, hard work, and patience. Thank you for helping us!
