Welcome Home Community Birth Center
Welcome Home Midwifery Services, Inc, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization facilitating accessible midwifery care (including prenatal care, labor and birth, and postpartum care) and clinical midwifery training to folks in Sacramento and surrounding counties.
In addition to providing clinical midwifery care services by licensed midwives and midwife assistants, we plan to open a facility in 2020 in Sacramento, California. The facility, Welcome Home Community Birth Center, will offer community-based midwifery care including on-site birth suites.
Our goal is to have the facility fully operating in 2020.
We are collecting donations so that we can acquire and renovate a safe facility. We anticipate locating a suitable site for our facility by the end of 2018, and will spend the next 2 years preparing the site for occupancy.
Ways you can help:
A donation of any amount to this GoFundMe campaign goes toward the acquisition, construction, and required permits for the center, fees for accreditation, birth kits for families, and necessary supplies so our facility can be a safe place for our team to provide healthcare.
Please share this campaign with others.
Please volunteer to attend local events with our team and conduct needs assessment surveys. These surveys provide WHMS the guidance necessary to individualize services for our community.
Offer your professional services at a volunteer or reduced rate to our organization. If you feel like you could help us in any way, send us a note.
Refer clients to our home birth program , which accepts all Medi-Cal plans. Families on Medi-Cal can birth at home with WHMS with no copay.
